Person-Centred Counselling with Kate
Choosing the right counsellor can feel like a big decision.
It's natural to want someone who feels right for you.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or wanting to understand yourself better. Engaging in person-centred counselling means you’ll be met with warmth and authenticity in a supportive space, where you decide the pace and there’s room to make sense of what you're holding, little by little.
You can book a free 20-minute Zoom call to see if this could be the right fit for you, because finding that connection really can make all the difference.
But the first step doesn’t have to feel like a big one 💚

Hey, I'm Kate
PERSON CENTRED COUNSELLOR | MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID INSTRUCTOR
I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can talk things through, feel genuinely heard, and explore whatever’s on your mind — at your own pace.
Person Centred Counselling
I work in a Person-Centred way, which means:
-
You’re in the driving seat, I believe you're the only expert on you.
-
I trust in your capacity to grow and heal, on your own terms.
-
I’m here to support your process, not to judge or analyse you.
You won't get homework. Just a supportive, boundaried space to talk and reflect, where we can make sense of things together.
Welcoming All of You, Always
You deserve a counselling space where you can be fully yourself, without having to hold anything back. For many people, racism, oppression, class, culture and identity shape our lives and affect our mental health. These things often show up in therapy, and I welcome anything you want to bring into the room.
I’ve spent the past few years working in a Black-led counselling service. That experience continues to shape how I think about power and psychological safety in this work. I’m committed to making therapy accessible and inclusive — and I welcome you exactly as you are.
The Life Experience I Bring
Before retraining as a counsellor, I spent two decades in corporate marketing, an experience that deepened my understanding of how people cope, communicate, and often mask what they’re feeling under pressure.
Alongside my counselling work, I deliver mental health lessons to secondary school students and Mental Health First Aid® training at workplaces. Across these roles, my focus is on creating safer, more informed spaces where people can be themselves, feel heard, and access the support they need.

My Approach
I offer person-centred counselling, which is a kind, genuine approach that trusts you to be the expert on your own life.
Believes you're the expert.
I won’t tell you what to do.
I’ll support you to find the path that feels right for you.
Trusts your inner wisdom.
I wholeheartedly believe what you need is already within you. I’ll create space for it to unfold.
Listens with empathy.
When you feel deeply seen and understood, it can be easier to make sense of what’s going on.
Follows your lead.
You set the pace and choose what to bring. There’s no agenda or pressure to say anything before you're ready.
Welcomes all of you, fully.
You can bring your whole self and say what you’re really feeling. You don’t have to hide any parts of you.
Stays genuinely authentic.
I don’t have all the answers, and I won’t pretend to. I’ll meet you as a real person, not as a clipboard.
A compassionate and authentic space where you can gradually untangle your thoughts and feelings, at your own pace.
